Room Inspector-Hotel Housekeeping

About the role

An IHG Room Inspector ensures guest rooms meet high brand standards by meticulously checking cleanliness and quality after housekeeping cleaning. They verify rooms are "fresh and welcoming," covering everything from bed-making to bathroom sanitation, and report maintenance issues.

Responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, including bathrooms, for cleanliness, sanitization, and compliance with IHG brand standards.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, such as broken fixtures, malfunctioning equipment, or damages.
• Update the Room Management System/Front Desk with the status of rooms (e.g., Clean/Vacant) and ensure prompt turnover.
• Assist in training new housekeeping employees, supervise staff, and ensure inventory is properly used.
• Ensure all in-room amenities are stocked and that the room meets a high aesthetic standard to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Perform room attendant duties when required.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years prior hotel housekeeping experience.
• Supervisory experience desired.
• Exceptional attention to detail to identify hair, dust, or sanitation issues.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Skills

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols (e.g., MSDS, OSHA).
• Experience with Property Management Systems.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, kneel, and work in a fast-paced environment.
