About the Role
The room attendant position at The Goodwin Hotel demonstrates and promotes a strong commitment to providing the best possible experience for guests and associates. This role is responsible for cleaning guest rooms and maintaining the hotel's high standards of cleanliness and service.
Responsibilities
- Attend daily housekeeping briefings to receive room assignments, special notices, and hotel updates.
- Clean assigned guest rooms in accordance with company standards, including making beds, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, polishing furniture, and restocking toiletries.
- Maintain housekeeping carts, cart rooms, and laundry areas to company standards.
- Report maintenance issues, guest property, or any damage directly to the front desk or management.
- Assist with guest requests and ensure guest and associate safety at all times.
- Perform routine and periodic cleaning of common areas such as hallways, public restrooms, the lobby, associate breakroom, guest laundry, fitness room, vending areas, and stairwells.
- Service rooms to the hotel’s standards, including restocking linens and supplies.
- Manage the cleanliness of guest rooms and common spaces before guest arrivals.
- Respond to general guest inquiries and greet guests warmly.
- Properly use and maintain equipment such as vacuum cleaners and carts, reporting malfunctions immediately.
- Ensure hallways, stairways, and corridors are free of obstructions and equipment is secured and restocked at the end of each shift.
- Deliver lost or found property to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.
- Complete assigned tasks in every room on a daily basis and submit worksheets to the Floor Supervisor at the end of each shift.
- Attend training sessions as required and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Previous experience in housekeeping or hospitality is preferred.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.
- Ability to follow guidelines, procedures, and company standards consistently.
