Room Attendant - Part Time

About the role

As a Room Attendant (RA) at Sonesta International Hotels, you’ll work with the Housekeeping Management Team to clean guest rooms and public spaces, and/or operate in the commercial laundry facility. Your work will uphold brand standards for time, product, and placement to ensure total guest satisfaction across Sonesta’s diverse portfolio of over 1,000 properties in eight countries.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest and client interactions following the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Respond to guest complaints and special requests, taking corrective action to ensure complete satisfaction.
• Clean and service assigned rooms or areas: make beds, dust, vacuum, sanitize bathrooms, remove trash, and clean kitchen areas (refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, dishware, etc.).
• Notify supervisor when service is completed so rooms may be sold or occupied; report any unserviceable rooms.
• Monitor, operate, and maintain laundry supplies and equipment; inspect, sort, and fold linens; report damages.
• Minimize waste of supplies and amenities.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
• Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Handle lost and found items according to established procedures.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other shifts and departments.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Some previous housekeeping experience preferred; background in the extended stay industry is a plus.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred; other languages are beneficial.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities.
• Frequently stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility.
• Carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Regularly use commercial cleaning chemicals.
• Work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Pay

Pay range: $25.50 – $26.50 per hour, following contract requirements.
