Room Attendant- Part Time

About the Role

The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, a historic and elegant property in Roanoke, Virginia, is seeking detail-oriented individuals to join our Housekeeping team. This part-time position is crucial in creating a memorable guest experience by maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our guest rooms and public areas.

Responsibilities

• Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well.
• Work as a team to maintain the cleanliness of the resort/hotel.
• Keep work carts orderly and properly stocked.
• Properly utilize equipment, supplies, and guest amenities.
• Ensure the thorough cleanliness and sanitation of assigned guest areas.
• Change and inspect linens and towels daily, following standards established by the Green Program.
• Follow safety standards and remain aware of hazards, reporting issues promptly.
• Respect guests' property and exercise responsible care of equipment.
• Report to work on time, maintain accurate time records, and follow proper room assignment procedures.
• Remain alert, courteous, and helpful to guests and coworkers at all times.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Floor Supervisor.

Requirements

• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Neat, professional appearance and pleasant personality.
• Strong time-management skills.
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions.
• Physical ability to move, bend, stretch, and position yourself to reach floor corners and high places; detect odors; maneuver carts weighing up to 100 lbs. in tight spaces; and operate equipment such as spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dustpans, scrub pads, and dusters.
• Ability to lift, carry, and position loads weighing at least 25 lbs.

Schedule

Part-Time: Open availability preferred. Typical weekday hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 5:00 p.m., depending on business needs. Must be available to work weekends and holidays. Weekend shifts generally begin at 9:00 a.m.

Pay

$16.00 - $17.50
