Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the cleanliness and overall appearance of the guest rooms and surrounding corridors.
  • Courteously and pleasantly, respond to the guest’s needs and requests to make their stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
  • Assist the maintenance department with any deficiencies in rooms or public areas, and report out-of-order equipment.
  • Maintain neatness of beds with fresh linens, pick up trash, empty waste cans, clean mirrors and shelves, wipe doorframes and furniture, dust light fixtures, windowsills, and baseboards, and arrange furniture properly.
  • Deep clean one room daily, scrubbing basin, bathtub, toilet, and tile floor with damp rag and detergent, disinfect surfaces in bathroom, replenish supplies in rooms, place clean towels on racks, vacuum each room and hallway, and report vacated and clean, occupied and clean, or any other discrepancies or unusual conditions to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform, and personal appearance.
  • Follow fire alarm and evacuation procedures.
  • Ensure security of guests, fellow associates, and hotel assets.
  • Avoid unauthorized access to confidential company information.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the General Manager to enhance hotel operations and guest service.

  • Knowledge of fire alarm and evacuation procedures.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours and work in a restricted space/environment.
  • Good eyesight enabling vision both near and far.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Clear, understandable speaking ability and hearing at a basic level.
  • Ability to bend, stretch arms overhead, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

Necessary skills include an outgoing personality, honesty, and the ability to work well with others. Must have the highest degree of integrity and be humble, living by the Golden Rule. Must be able to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, values dedication, innovation, respect, excellence, community focus, and service. Must have the physical ability to stand/walk for 8 hours, climb stairs, communicate clearly, hear at a basic level, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Skills

Must have the necessary skills to perform the job effectively, including communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities.
