About the role
The Room Attendant at 1 Hotels works as part of the Housekeeping service team to provide efficient and courteous service. This role is part of the world's first mission-driven hotel company, dedicated to making the world a better place one guest at a time.
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean guestrooms according to standards.
- Vacuum cleaning and dusting the rooms to ensure they are spotless for guest occupancy.
- Complete pre-cleaning duties, including setting up guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen for the housekeeping cart.
- Remove all trash and dirty linen from guestrooms and hallways.
- Keep hallways, public areas, and closets clean, neat, and vacuumed.
- Restock housekeeping cleaning cart and replenish chemical bottles.
- Report all missing items from guestrooms (e.g., hair dryers, technology).
- Follow proper Lost & Found procedures for lost items.
- Ensure the room’s equipment and facilities are functioning properly and report any malfunctions.
- Inspect guestrooms and report their status.
- Prioritize and organize work assignments.
- Handle special room requests and provide prompt, courteous service.
- Focus on attention to details when cleaning rooms and bathrooms.
- Input real-time work orders via HotSOS and address guest concerns.
- Convey guest opportunities clearly in HotSOS.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by leadership.
- Conduct oneself professionally and work collaboratively with colleagues and team leaders.
- Attend pre-shift meetings to learn shift details and understand guest expectations.
- Participate in and attend all required meetings.
- Anticipate and understand guests' service needs, ensuring satisfaction and responding promptly to concerns and requests.
- Greet, welcome, and acknowledge guests by name, responding courteously and professionally.
- Remain attentive to guests' needs, providing dependable, punctual, and enthusiastic service.
- Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to all internal and external guests.
- Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
- Identify opportunities to optimize performance and create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation, and driving necessary change.
- Be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems, exercising good judgment, and considering the guest's perspective.
- Immediately follow up with a leader upon encountering issues.

- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials.
- Maintain compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and standards with self and colleagues.
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and guest information.

Qualifications & Skills
- Previous related guest service experience dealing directly with the public and acquired general knowledge of basic customer service skills.
- Passion for cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate and comprehend English language sufficient to understand information such as labels and instructions and answer basic guest requests and to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels of guests and team members.
- Ability to learn and work with technology including devices such as computers, iPods, and iPads.
- Excellent time management skills and can work in a fast-paced environment.
- An extremely honest person with a high level of integrity.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, and 25 pounds constantly.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment.
- Ability to effectively cope with change, handle risk and uncertainty comfortably, ability to shift gears at a moment's notice while being composed under pressure.
