Room Attendant

About the role

Ascent Hospitality seeks a dedicated and accomplished individual to join their team as a Room Attendant. This position is integral to creating a memorable experience for both guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Sorts, counts, folds, marks, or carries linens.
• Replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies.
• Cleans corridors and stairways.
• Sweeps and scrubs bathroom floors.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts furniture, washes walls, woodwork, and windows.
• Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Completes a quality check on the television, telephone, AC, and smoke detectors.
• Removes any items left behind from room and takes to Lost and Found.
• Reports any maintenance related problems to the maintenance department.
• Ensures careful use of supplies and equipment.
• Completes a score of 90% or higher on room inspections.
• Gives a pleasant greeting to each guest.
• Accomplishes thorough knowledge of all in-house products and local area information.
• Displays proper organizational skills when stocking the cart and responds promptly to guest needs for housekeeping supplies.
• Uses guest names when entering an occupied room.
• Maintains daily checks on vacant rooms to ensure accuracy.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and organized supply room.
• Displays a team attitude and assists co-workers when necessary.

Requirements

• Ability to understand, read, write, and speak basic English.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Team player ability.
• Flexible shift work capability.

Qualifications

• Professional and energetic personality.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Four to six months of housekeeping experience or training preferred, but not required.
