About the Role

As a Room Attendant (RA) at Sonesta International Hotels, you will work with the Housekeeping Management Team to clean guest rooms and public spaces, and/or operate in the commercial laundry facility. Your role is pivotal in delivering the Sonesta Service promise, ensuring total guest satisfaction through adherence to brand standards for time, product, and placement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest and client interactions following the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Respond to guest complaints and special requests, ensuring corrective action for complete satisfaction.
• Clean and service assigned rooms or areas, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash, and cleaning kitchen areas, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, and dishware.
• Notify supervisor upon completion of service to ensure rooms are ready for sale or occupancy.
• Report any room unable to be serviced to the supervisor according to established procedures.
• Monitor and maintain laundry supplies and equipment, ensuring they are sufficient and in working order.
• Operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturers’ guidelines; inspect, fold, and store linens, reporting damages to the supervisor.
• Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within all housekeeping areas.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
• Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Handle lost and found items according to established procedures.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with other shifts and departmental management.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Some previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Previous background in the extended stay industry preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred; other languages are beneficial.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities are preferred.
• Frequently required to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility.
• Capable of carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals required.
• Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

Pay range: $16.00/hourly - $17.00/hourly. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
