Rooftop Host

About the role

Sage Hospitality Group is seeking a Rooftop Host for Bar Clara, a rooftop bar, pool, and restaurant atop Hotel Per La in Downtown Los Angeles. Bar Clara offers stunning skyline views and attracts both locals and tourists with its food and drink offerings.

Responsibilities

• Greet arriving customers with a cordial greeting
• Seat customers and establish rapport
• Issue menus and solicit special needs or requests
• Check in guests on reservation platforms like ResortPass or OpenTable
• Verify guests for the pool are hotel guests or ResortPass patrons, ensuring they have wristbands for access
• Assign sections and notify servers of new seats
• Elicit feedback from departing customers on products and services
• Takes written notes to report comments to management
• Distributes and accounts for all checks issued to servers
• Maintains a clean and attractive restaurant by assisting with cleaning duties
• Reports any maintenance or housekeeping discrepancies to management

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience of 3 months in a similar or related position with hosting duties and customer service exposure

Qualifications

• General knowledge of basic customer service skills, restaurant operations, and food service principles

Skills

• Must have good communication skills
• Ability to handle coins and writing utensils
• Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs
• Ability to stand throughout the shift and lift arms above head
• Good vision to read written communications, computer screens, and print-outs
• Ability to work under stress and handle highly emotional situations

USD $26.00 - USD $27.00 /Hr.
