About the role

As a key member of our team, you'll play a major role in bringing happiness and excitement to guests from around the world. Roofers at Busch Gardens perform all commercial roofing and carpentry work to maintain the park's appearance and ensure a safe environment for guests and employees.

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions of general roofing and carpentry work for in-park builds, repairs, and installations.
• Select proper materials for jobs to ensure quality and safety.
• Maintain dependable performance in attendance, acceptance of assignments, and strict adherence to all safety policies.
• Perform roof repairs, drywall installation and repair, and all phases of concrete work.
• Work from blueprints or in-depth sketches for construction and repair projects.
• Operate and maintain power and hand tools in good, safe condition.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as required.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of onsite experience in the roofing trade or carpentry field.
• Cabinet making experience, including cabinet building, framing, and fabrication of countertops.
• Experience with solid surface and laminate countertop fabrication.
• Experience in roof repairs and drywall installation and repair.
• Comfortable working at heights up to 100ft and on scaffolding up to 24ft.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Able to climb and work off ladders.
• Comfortable with exposure to noise, vibrations, water, fumes, dust, and odor.
• Able to work in all weather conditions and temperature extremes.
• Able to train on and properly use protective gear.
• Available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours, including opening and closing shifts, weekends, and holidays.
