Roof Crew
About the role
The Roof Crew Member supports the construction of roof assemblies within a controlled manufacturing environment. This role assists with framing, assembling, and installing roof components according to specifications, while maintaining quality standards, safety compliance, and production efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Frame roofs on assembly tables from sheetrock through roof sheathing
- Build dormers and assemble prebuilt roof components
- Construct and attach completed roof systems to wall assemblies
- Inspect materials and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements
- Install insulation systems and vapor barriers as required
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as fall protection
- Participate in cross-training opportunities across departments to support workforce flexibility and skill development
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on production needs
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and purchase orders
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction equipment
- Strong attention to detail and order accuracy
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time
- Ability to use basic math and measuring devices to calculate dimensions
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Able to lift up to 80 pounds consistently and safely
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing environment with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts
- Moderate noise levels; hearing protection may be required
- Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and mechanical equipment
- Required use of safety glasses and other PPE in designated areas
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Regular lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying of materials up to 80 pounds
- Requires manual dexterity, multi-limb coordination, and physical stamina
- Climate-controlled indoor work environment
Schedule
Full-time position: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Evening hours may be required based on production demands.
