Roll Thread Operator - 2nd shift, M-F 3pm-11pm, Pay Rate $21.73 + $2.25 Shift Premium + **Sign-on Bonus**

About the role

As a Roll Thread Operator, you'll be part of our manufacturing team located in Decorah, IA. You'll get to:

Responsibilities

• Maintain high quality standards and meet production requirements in the set-up and manufacture of fasteners on one or more varieties of roll threading equipment.
• Follow all established SPC procedures, including those described in the Company’s SPC guidelines.
• Complete and sign off on production prints legibly.
• Use all gages and gaging techniques as required and use personal micrometer and caliper.
• Maintain required quality levels and do not exceed scrap or discrepant material limitations.
• Set up and operate one or more varieties of roll threaders under close supervision to meet print requirements.
• Evaluate simple tooling and simple maintenance problems independently and refer more difficult and complex problems to lead person or supervisor.
• Maintain production efficiencies of 40%-60% of machine group capacities.
• Communicate all necessary information through shift changes.
• Make minor repairs and assist maintenance in major repairs.
• Other duties as assigned by lead person or supervisor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Demonstrated base mechanical skills, aptitude.
• Basic math skills, add, subtract, multiply and divide, for blueprint reading, gaging, etc.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to communicate in English in both written and verbal formats.
• Ability to identify basic equipment problems.
• Ability to visualize and understand the manufacturing process.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to legibly complete signoffs and record data for IATF16949 requirements.
• Ability to learn and comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and practices.
• Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 requirements.

Preferred Skills & Abilities

• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Previous machine or set-up/operating experience.
• Previous experience reading gages, micrometers and blue prints.
• Forklift operation/material-handling experience.
• Computer literate.
