About the role

A Driver – CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck and providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. Responsibilities include ensuring the vehicle meets the Company’s safety standards, adhering to all Company, state, and federal regulations, and completing daily vehicle condition reports (VCRs) to document and address any defects.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle to verify tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order; report any safety issues.
• Safely operate the heavy truck along designated routes and to disposal sites; read route sheets, follow maps, and service each customer as assigned.
• Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor, and dispose of collected material at designated facilities in accordance with Company safety policies.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely and professional service.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them per applicable procedures.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials and clean spills in adherence to safety standards and policies.
• Monitor vehicle condition to ensure operational readiness; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body as needed.
• Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports as required.
• Maintain adherence to productivity standards to ensure timely and efficient service.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in the Company’s ReSOP program.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes endorsement.
