Roll Mill Operator - 3rd Shift - TN Strut Plant
About the role
Work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing setting that may include dust and debris and can be loud at times. Perform various tasks involved in Roll Mill operation including but not limited to setting up and operating machines, handling parts and materials, packing parts and other related activities using hand tools, various type of packing materials. Must follow all applicable safety procedures to avoid injuries including requests for help from co-workers. Proper handling of finished parts and products to avoid injuries or damage, follow all operational instructions when operating or using tools and equipment. Provide quality checks as determined.
Job may require overtime and a flexible schedule, reporting early and working late, including weekends.
Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates a Roll Mill in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Maintain quality and dimensional integrity of the product during the production run.
- Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete more complex adjustments when changing profile or materials.
- Uses computer-controlled equipment to select position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines.
- May assist with training other team member in the operation and adjustments required on the Roll Mill.
- May calculate and assist with numeric controlled programming.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal communication skills with strong aptitude for operating a Roll Mill, Punch Press, Accumulator, and Decoiler.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn the production process for all Roll Mill operations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Hi-Lo Certification preferred, will be trained and certified on the hi-lo.
- (2) years of solid experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to clear drug screen and background check.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Physical Needs and Work Environment
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation as you will frequently and repetitively be required to bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach to perform work, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk and/or sit and reach with hands and arms. May occasionally climb stairs, drive vehicles, and operate equipment. Lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Must wear required hearing and/or eye protection.
Schedule
3rd shift, Sunday – Thursday, 11:00 pm – 7:30 am
Pay
$25.00 per hour; 3rd shift includes $1.50 shift differential
