About the role

As an Amazon Robotics Solutions Design Engineer, you will work with the most talented engineers in designing robotic fulfillment systems. This role requires an established background in developing high-performance physical systems, strong technical problem-solving abilities, excellent project management skills, and a passion for innovation in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and create physical processing and material storage solutions using innovative technology, robotics, and data analytics to meet product flow requirements based on Amazon design principles.
  • Identify and analyze key operational and financial metrics as part of program and feature selection to drive smart decisions.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with systems and operations engineering teams to develop product features and optimize the performance of fulfillment centers (FCs).
  • Manage and support multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors, and vendors.
  • Develop models as required to solve complex problems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any discipline) or 2+ years Amazon experience.
  • Experience using business/technical software like MS Excel, Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360, Simulation software like FlexSim, and commercial off-the-shelf technologies such as Tableau, SQL, etc.
  • Demonstrated use of analytical skills to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.
  • Experience with process design based on Lean Principles.
  • Proficiency using business/technical software like MS Excel, Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360, Simulation software like FlexSim, and commercial off-the-shelf technologies such as Tableau, SQL, etc.
  • Ability to travel 10% globally to interact with internal and external business and technical leaders.
