About the role
The Geffen Academy Entrepreneurship & Robotics Educator will deliver an innovative program of secondary school instruction under the direction of the I-Track Department Chair and Division Director.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the creation of a course of study
- Offer exciting and engaging instruction to students in up to five (5) courses each term
- Engage in the life of the school in a robust and fully engaged manner
Requirements
- Advanced degree in engineering/computer science preferred
- Two to three years of secondary teaching experience
- Experience designing project-based curricula for middle and upper school students addressing real-world problems
- Experience working with robotics in an educational setting
- Strong background in education with a clear understanding and embrace of Geffen Academy's mission, vision, and values
- Multidisciplinary experience and versatility to teach entrepreneurship and engineering, as well as an interest in leading an extra-curricular program in robotics
- A sincere commitment to professional development in pedagogy and respective content area
- A passionate commitment to innovation and design thinking applied to the real world, and a desire to work with all types of learners
- Experience in a "bring your own device" educational setting and/or commitment to a BYOD program
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Self-directed and capable of prioritizing and handling multiple tasks
Qualifications

$80,000 - $105,000 per year
