Robotics & Automation Engineer, Manufacturing

This role is part of the Diagnostics and Genomics Group (DGG), where the Manufacturing Engineering team partners closely with other functions in Order Fulfillment and Supply Chain (OFS) to support the manufacture of highly regulated medical devices critical for physicians to help select therapies for their patients.

As part of a growing and dedicated engineering team, you will contribute to Finished Production, with a direct impact on helping patients with cancer. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team providing hands-on production equipment support, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining essential robotics and automation machinery. You will also manage capital equipment and improvement projects, work with vendors and contractors, and partner with QA on regulatory compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on engineering support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of robotic and automated high-mix, low-volume (HMLV) production floor equipment in a regulated environment.
• Define, procure, and support robotic and automated filling, labeling, and packaging equipment (including SOW, Functional Specifications, FAT, SAT).
• Apply project management skills and tools to lead and support capital equipment and improvement projects.
• Resolve equipment failures with a focus on root cause analysis.
• Lead and assist with defining and implementing corrective and preventive actions, and resolution to audit findings.
• Prepare, complete, and support validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) to meet applicable FDA and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Automation, or other relevant Engineering & Technology disciplines with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior hands-on working experience with Robotics & Automation, PLCs, HMIs, Vision Systems, Servos, and Labelers.
• Prior experience maintaining robotic & automated equipment.
• Experience with process/equipment validation: writing documentation and execution (IQ, OQ, PQ).
• Strong technical, project management, and documentation skills.
• Self-starter with a highly organized, detail-oriented mindset and strong analytical and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a regulated environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of FDA QSR requirements, ISO 13485, or other recognized international quality system standards.
• Experience working with and/or managing suppliers and/or subcontractors.
• Experience with DI water systems, cold room management, central monitoring systems.
• Experience with FMEA, DOE, SPCCAD, SolidWorks.
• Experience with SAP, Agile, and Electronic Batch Records.
• Hands-on experience programming Fanuc and Denso robots, Omron and Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, Cognex Vision Systems, Zebra, Sato, and DataMax Labelers.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0, AI, predictive analytics, and touchless transactions.

Pay

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $110,424.00 - $172,538.00 per year plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits. Pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay based on job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a day shift. Occasional travel may be required.
