Robotic System Electrical Technician

About the role

The Robotic System Electrical Technician is an experienced machine assembler with expertise in electrical assembly methods. This role involves collaborating with Assembly personnel, Production Control, Engineering, Checkout, and Project Managers to complete electrical subassemblies for Delkor machines and systems, ensuring projects are on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety protocols and procedures; provide continuous improvement ideas for safety.
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment and use safety equipment as required; correct safety discrepancies and report concerns.
• Maintain a well-organized and clutter-free work area, adhering to 5S and workplace organization standards.
• Meet established quality standards and follow quality procedures; provide continuous improvement ideas for quality.
• Correct quality discrepancies and report concerns to the Production Lead; ensure all Quality Checklists are completed.
• Work efficiently to reduce costs and eliminate waste; report labor accurately and ensure timely completion of work.
• Organize electrical assembly of machines with the Production Lead - Electrical.
• Assemble electrical main enclosures, junction boxes, and third-party equipment.
• Complete Engineering Change Requests (ECR) for machine improvements and Production Concerns requests for discrepancies.
• Navigate SolidWorks models and drawings to troubleshoot problems and clarify build processes.
• Assist with crating and shipment of machines.
• Perform electrical assembly per the build book and documented requirements, following company electrical standards.
• Properly return stock parts after machine build/checkout.
• Perform other assigned tasks or duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, including strong problem-solving and math skills.
• Two-year degree and/or formal coursework in Robotics, Automated Machinery, or Electrical Panel Building preferred.
• Experience using hand tools, pneumatic and electrical tools, grinders, band saws, sanders, lifting devices, saws, and drills.
• Computer skills to navigate Web Client, Composer, Syteline, and Outlook.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Understanding and practice of 5S guidelines.
• Ability to follow and maintain build standardization procedures, including detailed work instructions.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for most of the day.
• Speak and hear to exchange detailed information verbally and via telephone.
• Physical mobility including reaching, bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling, and arm/leg extension for assembly activities.
• Extensive arm and hand mobility/strength to lift, hold, reach, carry, push, and pull parts, tools, and equipment.
• Lift 40 pounds regularly; occasionally lift up to 75 pounds with assistance.
• Visual acuity to judge distances, space relationships, and read plans/documents.

Work Environment

• 90% of duties performed on the assembly floor with exposure to tools, dirt, dust, chemicals, metals, plastics, varying temperatures, construction noises, and production odors.
• 10% of work performed in an office setting for detailed tasks, computer work, or meetings.

Tools and Equipment

• Operate tools typically used on an assembly floor.
• Use general office equipment such as computers, printers, telephones, copiers, and email.

Pay

The hourly salary range for this position is $26.00 - $36.00 per hour. Compensation reflects experience, performance, and skills relevant to the role. Factors such as education, work experience, and certifications are considered in the final offer.
