Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates CNC, NC, lathes and semi-automatic machines.
- Studies blueprints, layouts, and sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
- Uses calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments to verify completed work against specified tolerances.
- Verifies completed work with the tolerance limits stated in the specifications.
- May involve frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.
- Observes and complies with all safety and project rules, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
- Requires knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
- Performs tasks under minimum supervision and typically reports to a supervisor.
Qualifications
- May require a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous years of experience in the field or a related area may be required.
