About the role

Fairway Management is seeking Roaming Maintenance Techs to support regional operations and perform routine maintenance duties. The role involves daily travel, preparing for inspections, and ensuring property maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and investor regulations and policies.
  • Prepare for state agency and investor inspections and ensure OSHA and EPA property compliance.
  • Prioritize work orders for assigned properties.
  • Maintain exceptional curb appeal of the property, buildings, and common areas.
  • Be available for on-call after hours.
  • Perform quarterly preventative maintenance checks.
  • Train assigned staff on company systems, building systems, and safety training as well as general maintenance training for Maintenance Tech I and II’s.
  • Prepares properties for REAC or INSPIRE inspections.

Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5 years of multifamily, commercial, or hotel maintenance experience.
  • Must have 1 to 2 years of verifiable HVAC troubleshooting, repairs, and installation experience.
  • Must have working knowledge in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and building operating systems.
  • EPA Type II Certification.

Qualifications

  • Must have applicable maintenance tools.
  • Lead make-ready process with unit turns in a timely manner.
  • Include painting, carpet cleaning, and general unit cleaning as needed.
  • Be available for on-call after hours.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs, work in enclosed spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Must be willing to assist neighboring properties in maintenance tasks.
  • Must be able to pick up supplies from area vendors as needed while legally operating a registered and properly insured vehicle.
  • Reports to Regional Manager and Maintenance Superintendent for all delegated tasks.
  • Travel to, and participate in, both regional and corporate training and/or conferences as required.
  • Be alert to any emergencies, suspicious people or events and notify appropriate staff.
  • Assist with maintaining exceptional curb appeal.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with residents, vendors, and other staff members.
  • Make the manager aware of any health and safety concerns on site.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed and approved.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, repair, and replace HVAC.

Skills

  • Highly skilled in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and building operating systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and repair skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
  • Proficient in using maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule of 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
