Roadway Project Manager
About the role
Volkert is seeking an experienced Roadway Project Manager to support and lead transportation design projects in the Mid-Atlantic Region, specifically in our Pittsburgh, PA or Camp Hill, PA office.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Roadway projects and tasks in Pennsylvania for the development of project designs and directing designers to successfully execute and deliver project work, while implementing client focused strategies
- Hire and manage production staff to support roadway design for projects
- Organize activities, schedules, and reporting in support of assigned projects
- Prepare, issue, and track project documentation such as contracts, change orders, client sign-off, etc. for all phases of assigned project work
- Prepare correspondence and documents with clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies as required
- Aid in preparing and/or editing meeting minutes and presentations
- Support project submittals and bidding activities
- Provide support to project team as requested
- Market new and existing clients
- Interact with clients and the public related to your work and understand the context of the plans you develop
- Work as part of a team to deliver a range of transportation and civil design projects
- Identify and analyze problems using reasoning to arrive at sound engineering conclusions
- Adhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manual
Requirements
- BS degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience
- At least 4 years of progressive responsibility within the industry
- PA Turnpike or PennDOT roadway design experience
- Pennsylvania PE is required
Qualifications
- Experience in DOT design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
