Roadway/Highway Intern

Job Description

Parsons is looking for an Amazingly Talented Roadway Engineer Intern to join our team!

In this role, you will get to contribute to large-scale engineering projects and gain practical experience in a highway and roadway design.

What You'll Be Doing

• Prepare construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Aid in the geometric design of highways and roadways, including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, superelevation diagrams, gore details, vertical clearance calculations, and grading plans.
• Perform material quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and field surveys as required.
• Use design software and CAE/CAD applications to develop and implement project designs.
• Provide technical guidance and input to CAD drafters, designers, and other engineers working on the project team.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support project delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an Engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university.
• Have completed typically 1+ year of studies in a major Engineering discipline.
