About the role
We are seeking a Roadway Engineer to join our South Carolina Transportation Business Group. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Serving in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the engineering development of urban and rural highway/roadway projects.
- Overseeing the work of CAD Designers, and possibly EITs.
- Preparing detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects.
- Participating in activities ranging from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase.
- Assuming some project management duties and interacting with clients as needed.
- Performing other duties as needed.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Work closely with Project Managers to develop and implement urban and rural highway/roadway projects.
- Collaborate with CAD Designers and possibly EITs to ensure accurate and efficient design processes.
- Create detailed engineering designs for various types of roadway and highway projects.
- Engage in site feasibility analysis and participate in the entire design process, including the construction phase.
- Assist with project management tasks and maintain client relationships.
- Contribute to other relevant responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design.
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d.
- MS Office knowledge.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout, and CAD base alignment plans.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $125,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

This is a Full-time position.
