Roadway Design Engineer

About the role

Stantec's growing transportation practice is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer. This role may be based in either Charleston, SC or Columbia, SC.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the development of design plans for transportation projects.
• Support and coordinate work with multiple engineering disciplines, as well as drafting/CADD work for the project.
• Perform engineering calculations, interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and assist with proposal preparation.
• Work with a team of designers to successfully deliver projects.
• Learn from senior project engineers or project managers.

Requirements

• Self-starter with the ability to work with a team.
• Proficiency with Bentley’s MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD) software.
• Good communication skills, multi-tasking, and attentiveness to detail.
• Open to learning new skills and interfacing with multiple project managers.
• EIT or EI certificate is preferred.

Credentials

• A Bachelor of Science or a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and at least 2 years of transportation infrastructure experience required.
• Experience performing work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment.

• Education and Experience: A Bachelor of Science or a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and at least 2 years of transportation infrastructure experience required.
• Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require out-of-office meetings/travel.
