Roadside Technician Commercial Tires - Covington, LA
About the role
The role of the Roadside Technician position in our company can be broken down into one sentence: “An emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets.”
Responsibilities
- Dispatched to customer locations to repair or change tires when a customer has a tire-related failure.
- Help mount orders, clean and organize the shop, and perform other general duties as needed during non-service call periods.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and meet commercial driver qualification requirements.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Previous commercial service tire experience is preferred but not required.
Skills
- Servicing commercial tires including dismounting, mounting, and repairing any type of tire.
- Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary.
- Inflating tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements.
- Complying with OSHA regulations and safety requirements, including using proper PPE, following tire cage usage, and adhering to all safety policies and procedures.

Pay and Schedule
- The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
- Selected candidates may be eligible for a number of benefits, including: medical, prescription drug, vision, dental, wellness program, life insurance, 401(k) with company matching, paid vacation/sick pay and holidays, tuition reimbursement, and employee discounts.
- Shift Information: There is a mandatory on-call rotation. During a Technician's on-call period, they are expected to run after-hours service calls at a 95% acceptance rate, which includes weekends and nights. Time worked in after-hours service calls is paid in double-time with a minimum of 2 hours per call!
