Roadside Technician Commercial Tires - College Station, TX

About the role

An emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets. When a customer has a tire-related failure, a Technician is dispatched to the customer's location to repair or change the tire. Technicians are expected to be roadside when performing their job duties. During times with no service calls pending, Technicians assist with mounting orders, shop cleaning and organization, and other general duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside service calls for commercial tire failures
• Repair or replace tires at customer locations
• Mount and dismount commercial tires
• Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout adjustments as required
• Inflate tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements
• Assist with shop duties when not on service calls

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and meet commercial driver qualification requirements
• At least 21 years of age
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous Commercial Service Tire experience

Skills

• Servicing commercial tires including dismounting, mounting, and repairing any type of tire
• Performing match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout adjustments
• Inflating tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements
• Complying with OSHA regulations and safety requirements (proper PPE, tire cages, and all other safety policies and procedures)

Schedule

Mandatory on-call rotation. During on-call periods, Technicians must accept after-hours service calls at a 95% acceptance rate, including weekends and nights. Time worked on after-hours service calls is paid at double-time with a minimum of 2 hours per call. Example: if a Technician accepts, arrives, and completes a call in 45 minutes, they receive an additional 1 hour 15 minutes of double-time pay.
