As a Roadside Service Tech I-Tow at AAA Northeast, you will provide safe and best-in-class roadside solutions while ensuring positive member experiences, achieving performance standards, and maintaining high member satisfaction rates.

Responsibilities

• Respond to member requests for service within a given ETA (estimated time of arrival).
• Ensure personal safety, member safety, and vehicle security.
• Educate members on possible vehicle issues and provide services such as jump starts, flat tire replacement, and vehicle entries.
• Provide minor mechanical assistance (if trained and equipped) to attempt to get the member’s vehicle operational instead of towing.
• Tow disabled vehicles to repair facilities or other member-requested destinations if necessary.
• Promote AAA products and services and ensure complete resolution of member issues.
• Accept calls and respond to Dispatch or members with ETA to destination.
• Assess and address the emotional state of members (e.g., calming or reassuring them).
• Evaluate the safety of the scene on arrival to ensure safe service provision.
• Provide efficient minor mechanical assistance and towing service following established policies and procedures.
• Maintain AAA’s high standard of service and image, including vehicle and equipment upkeep, professional appearance, and adherence to traffic and safety laws.
• Operate in-vehicle MDC computer to receive and update call information.
• Collect revenue through cash and credit cards accurately based on services rendered.
• Safeguard confidential information and follow proper guidelines for paperwork.
• Educate members on AAA battery replacement services and promote other AAA products.
• Work independently with minimal face-to-face contact with the service team.
• Prevent damage and injury by locating ideal securing points and responding to changing vehicle dynamics.
• Support various fleet locations based on business needs, including nights, extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Post-secondary training in automotive mechanics and familiarity with electrical troubleshooting preferred.
• Active and valid driver’s license issued by only one state or jurisdiction required.
• Must satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check during pre-hire screening and periodically during employment.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00 per hour. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, shift differentials, and experience. Annual bonuses are offered, and certain roles may earn additional monthly or quarterly incentives. Shift differentials include:

• Additional $2.75 per hour for overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM).
• Additional $1.75 per hour for evening shifts (6 PM - 10 PM).
• Additional $1.00 per hour for weekend hours.

Differentials can be combined.
