Road Driver

About the role

The role involves operating tractor-trailer combinations to pick up and deliver trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections
• Hook and unhook trailers and dollies
• Verify documentation
• Maintain logs
• Comply with hazardous material regulations
• Load and unload freight (as required)
• Perform chaining of tires (as required)

Requirements

• Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements
• At least 1 year of recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
• Meet all DOT regulations
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently, show initiative, and adhere to safety standards

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Physical ability to lift heavy trailers and maneuver in and out of trucks
• Long-distance driving in various weather conditions
• Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, and diesel fumes
• Potential overnight stays
