Road Driver

Role Overview This position involves operating tractor-trailer combinations to pick up and deliver trailers between service centers and turn-point locations, ensuring safe and efficient transportation. Key Responsibilities Operate tractor-trailer units, including doubles and triples where applicable.Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.Verify and complete required documentation and maintain accurate logs.Follow hazardous material regulations and dispatch instructions.Load and unload freight as needed, and perform chaining of tires if required.Possibly perform duties of city driver or dock employee to support operations.Comply with all legal, safety, and company policies. Qualifications & Skills Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements.Minimum of 1 year recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course.Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and DOT compliance.Ability to handle trailer hooking, physical lifting, and operate long combination vehicles.Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.Physical capability to sit for extended periods, climb in/out of trucks, and perform physical tasks. Working Conditions Long-distance driving in diverse weather conditions.Exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials.Overnight stays and variable hours based on operational needs.
