Road Driver

Position Overview Responsible for picking up and delivering trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations. Essential Functions Operate tractor-trailers, including doubles and triples where applicable. Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections. Hook and unhook trailers and convertor dollies. Complete documentation, logs, and reports accurately. Comply with hazardous material regulations and follow dispatch instructions. May perform chaining, load/unload freight, and assist as a city driver or dock employee when necessary. Adhere to all laws, regulations, and company policies. Perform Other Duties As Required. Qualifications & Skills: Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements; automatic transmission restriction allowed. At least 1 year recent experience or completion of Driver Development Course. Valid Motor Vehicle Record and compliance with DOT regulations. Ability to handle trailer hookups, lift approximately 100 pounds, and work independently or in teams. Strong communication skills and initiative. Working Conditions Drive long distances in various weather conditions; exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials. Overnight stays may be required; hours vary based on operational needs.
