Road Driver

This role involves picking up and delivering trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples where applicable. Key Responsibilities Include Operating tractor-trailer units safely and efficiently, performing daily pre-trip and safety inspections.Hooking/unhooking trailers and converter dollies, verifying documentation, and maintaining accurate logs.Complying with hazardous material regulations, following dispatch instructions, and communicating effectively with dispatch.Loading/unloading freight, performing chaining of tires if necessary, and possibly performing duties of city driver or dock worker when needed.Adhering to all legal, safety, and company policies. Qualifications include a Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements, along with at least one year of recent experience or completion of a driver development course. Must meet DOT and FMCSA regulations, possess basic communication skills, and demonstrate physical ability to handle trailer hookups and maneuver the vehicle. Working conditions involve long-distance driving in various weather and road conditions, exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and potential hazardous materials. Overnight stays may be required, and safety precautions must be followed.
