Road Driver

Position Overview: Responsible for picking up and delivering trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations. Key Responsibilities Operate tractor-trailer units, including doubles and triples where applicable.Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections of equipment.Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies, and verify documentation.Maintain accurate logs and ensure compliance with hazardous material regulations.Follow dispatch instructions and communicate any delays or issues.Load and unload freight as needed and perform chaining of tires if required.Possibly perform duties of city driver or dock employee operationally necessary.Adhere to all laws, regulations, and company policies. Qualifications & Skills Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements.At least 1 year of recent driving experience or completion of a driver development course.Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and compliance with DOT regulations.Ability to handle trailer hookups, lift approximately 100 pounds, and work independently or in a team.Good communication skills and physical ability to sit, bend, squat, and climb in/out of trucks. Working Conditions: Long-distance driving in various weather conditions, exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and DOT-shipped hazardous materials. Overnight stays and variable hours may be required.
