Road Construction CDL Driver

About the role

The Driver plays a crucial role in Russell Standard's operations, managing commercial vehicles to support both pavement preservation and asphalt emulsions production.

Responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate DOT logs and assigned paperwork
• Obtain and haul materials from various storage facilities, manufacturing yards, or office yards
• Perform daily inspections on assigned equipment and report issues, defects, or repairs to maintenance
• Follow and obey all road and traffic laws, as well as DOT and FMCSA regulations and guidelines
• Assist with equipment operation and material handling in pavement preservation
• Transport raw materials and deliver finished products in production operations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid Commercial Driver's License - Class A or B
• Knowledge of single and multi-rear axle trucks
• Prior experience with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements preferred
• Basic vehicle maintenance and upkeep knowledge
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently
• Available for overnight travel at job sites
• Flexible scheduling and willingness to work varied shifts and long hours
• Able to safely lift at least 50 pounds, work on elevated platforms, enter confined spaces, and tolerate common construction-related odors and fumes
• Manual dexterity required for tasks involving wrists, hands, and fingers
• Standing and walking required for extended periods
• Visual, auditory, and manual dexterity necessary for safety and efficiency
