About the role
Willis-Knighton Pierremont is seeking an experienced RN for the position of Wound/Ostomy Nurse (WOCN).
Responsibilities
- Serves as a care consultant and provider for patients with wounds and ostomies.
- Provides assessments of patients and collaborates with the medical team to develop plans of care.
- Provides wound and ostomy education to patients, their families, and staff.
- Develops plans and protocols to reduce the incidence of hospital acquired pressure injuries.
- Works with staff and quality officers to keep policies and procedures current.
- Stays abreast of supplies and treatment trends regarding wound and ostomy care.
Requirements
- Two years wound care experience preferred
- Graduate of Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing (WOCN) Educational Program with current WOCN specialty board certification OR pursuit of certification in WOCN, CWS, or WCC within the first year
- Current Louisiana Nursing License
- BLS Provider Certification
- ACLS Provider Certification
