About the role
Provides proficient, direct patient care in obstetrics and neonatal settings, following established nursing standards and organizational policies.
Responsibilities
- Deliver complex care across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, well newborn, and neonatal intensive care stages
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient transfers, discharges, and psychosocial support
- Educate patients and families tailored to their needs
- Delegate tasks to ancillary staff
- Precept students and new hires
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor's degree preferred
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) with relevant certifications
- Minimum six months of Women and Infants nursing experience or completion of a fellowship program
- Additional certifications required within specified timelines, including NRP, ACLS, and BLS
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Key Duties
- Deliver comprehensive obstetric and neonatal patient care
- Monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions effectively
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care and provide patient/family education
- Work with minimal supervision, demonstrating critical thinking and decision-making skills
