RN - Weekend Option - Medical Progressive Care

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Medical Progressive Care Unit (MPCU). This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care to adults with complex medical conditions requiring frequent assessments, continuous monitoring, and specialized nursing support.

Responsibilities

• Delivering comprehensive nursing care based on evidence‑based practices and standards.
• Monitoring vital signs, neurological, respiratory, renal functions, and infection indicators, intervening promptly as needed.
• Administering medications, treatments, and procedures with accuracy and clinical judgment.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educating patients and families on medical conditions, treatments, medications, and post-discharge care.
• Documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives and maintaining patient safety practices.
• Providing compassionate, holistic care aligned with the organization's values.

Qualifications and skills

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license (state-specific).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, or progressive care settings.
• Additional certifications like ACLS or NIH Stroke Scale are advantageous.
• Strong assessment, cardiac rhythm interpretation, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with adaptability and sound judgment.
