Neurology 8 East cares for patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds. Nurses gain valuable experience with complex neuro assessments, safety‑focused care, and close collaboration with neurology providers and therapy teams.

About the Role

The Neurology RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy clinical complexity, teamwork, and continuous skill development.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintain professional accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients.
• Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Perform ongoing patient assessments, care coordination, and documentation.
• Deliver compassionate, patient‑centered care consistent with Mercy’s mission and values.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Prior hospital or acute‑care nursing experience.
• Specialty certifications.
• New graduate nurses are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds.
• Prolonged standing and walking.
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely.

Pay

• Sign‑on bonus: Up to $20,000 for experienced nurses.
• Sign‑on bonus: Up to $10,000 for new graduate nurses (less than 1 year of experience).

Schedule

• Full‑time, 36 hours per week.
• Weekday, Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM).
