RN - Utilization Management
About the Role
Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a Utilization Manager Registered Nurse (UMRN) for a completely remote position. The Nurse will review cases, educate patients on appropriate care, and manage healthcare costs for the dependents of Active Duty military personnel and eligible retirees. This role operates remotely Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day.
Responsibilities
- Review cases and ensure appropriate patient care.
- Educate patients on healthcare best practices.
- Manage healthcare costs for military dependents and eligible retirees.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- At least one active state nurse license, preferably compact state licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Utilization Manager Registered Nurse, preferably in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Current certification in one of the following:
- Completion of an accredited Certified Professional Utilization Review (CPUR) program.
- Certified Case Manager (CCM) issued by the Commission for Case Manager Certification.
- Alternatively, two (2) years of full-time broad-based registered nurse experience in utilization management review or case management within the preceding five (5) years.
- Pertinent clinical experience within the past two (2) years to demonstrate current clinical competency.
- Highly organized, self-directed, and able to function in a high-volume environment without distractions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong technical aptitude.
- Access to secure, high-speed internet.
