About the role

Baylor University Medical Center (Baylor Dallas), part of Baylor Scott & White Health, is a major patient care, teaching and research center in Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1903, it now has 914 licensed beds, serves over 300,000 patients annually, and is the North Texas flagship hospital of the system. The hospital hosts more than 20 medical specialty centers, many ranked among the top 50 nationally, and has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hospitals” for 29 consecutive years, among other honors. Baylor Dallas earned its fourth consecutive Magnet Recognition Program accreditation in 2018.

The Trauma ICU is a fast‑paced unit caring for high‑acuity traumatically injured patients, including brain, spine, orthopedic, blunt and penetrating chest and abdominal trauma, abdominal transplants, and general surgical care requiring ICU. Patient ratio is 1:2. The unit has 23 beds, is one of three adult trauma centers in Dallas covering 21 counties (≈18,000 square miles) and a population of 5 million, with 24‑hour in‑unit provider coverage. It is an AACN Beacon Award‑winning unit with active practice councils and multiple committees. Open positions are full‑time, night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current RN license (Registered Nurse)
• Minimum 1 year ICU experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – must be obtained within 30 days of hire
