How You'll Help
The RN Team Lead provides clinical leadership and oversight for patient care delivery while supporting staff development, operational efficiency, and quality outcomes. This role serves as a clinical resource, mentor, and team leader to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care across assigned areas.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a team leader, clinical resource, mentor, and role model for staff.
- Provides direct patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Leads and mobilizes the care team to support positive patient outcomes.
- Facilitates effective communication and resolves operational issues within the work group.
- Supports staff development through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
- Participates in performance evaluations and contributes to development planning.
- Assists with staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution to ensure adequate coverage.
- Collaborates with leadership on fiscal management, resource allocation, and budget considerations.
- Participates in performance improvement, patient satisfaction, and quality initiatives.
- Conducts team meetings and promotes a positive, accountable work environment.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory, licensure, and accreditation standards.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintains confidentiality and exercises sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
- Supports organizational initiatives and adapts to changing priorities.
- Responds to staffing needs, including supporting other facilities as required.
Requirements
- Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience including demonstrated clinical and leadership expertise.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- For Behavioral Health roles, de-escalation training must be completed within the required timeframe.
- For OB/GYN roles, EFM NCC certification required.
- AHA BLS-HCP certification required; ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage challenging patient situations as appropriate to role.

Pay
Compensation range: $39.00 - $62.40 per hour. Employee pay is based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The range does not include benefits or pension plan.
