JOB SUMMARY

Sycamores is partnering with Riverside University Health Systems (RUHS) to provide support to people experiencing a mental health crisis. The RN Supervisor will provide support and supervision to the Mobile Crisis Response Program and be an integral part of the Sycamores larger Mobile Crisis Response Program.

About the role

This is a direct service leadership position designed to provide hands-on coaching, direction, and guidance to staff within the program. The RN Supervisor provides administrative and supervision to members of the Mobile Crisis Response Program. The RN Supervisor will be available for consultation during and following crisis calls, as well as fill in when back up is needed in the field. The RN Supervisor will supervise, lead identified crisis staff, be on-call, and represent the Mobile Crisis Response Program to external stakeholders and community resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide initial phone support to all callers and triage calls to the Sycamores Mobile Crisis Response Program for in-person support.
  • Respond out to the community to provide timely support including crisis stabilization, safety planning, assessment for danger to self/ others, and gravely disabled to write 5150 holds as needed and provide follow up support.
  • Work directly with staff on the implementation of best practices that are consistent with policies and the agency’s treatment philosophy.
  • Supervise, lead identified crisis staff, be on-call, and represent the Mobile Crisis Response Program to external stakeholders and community resources.
  • Manage and work through conflict in a calm manner.
  • Be an effective listener.
  • Maintain all required licenses and certifications.
  • Drive company vehicles for crisis intervention, including the provision of urgent or emergency services.

Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • 2 years of field crisis management preferred.
  • Must be LPS certified or LPS eligible.
  • Advanced LPS knowledge of best practices.
  • Excellent consumer de-escalation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, creativity, flexibility, time management, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to manage and/or de-escalate consumers/residents.
  • Frequent driving to various work site locations.
  • Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
  • Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
  • Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
  • Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Continuous use of near vision, hearing, and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Supervisory And Teaching Or Training Skills.
  • Starting Pay Range: $97,760 - $104,000 per year for Full-Time employment (starting pay will be based on previous work experience and educational background.)
  • Shift Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday 6 pm - 4 am Or Wednesday - Saturday 6 pm - 4 am.

Physical Demands
