RN Staff Per Diem - Emergency Services (Day Shift)

Summary of the Job
Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members. Supervises the activities of Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, Monitor Technicians, Certified Nursing Assistance, Nurse Technicians, unit clerks and Paramedic technicians.
Minimum Qualifications
- Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program.
- Current LA RN licensure.
- Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications (ALS/PALS within 6 months of hire) through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross.
- The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.
Preferred Qualifications
- One Year Of Acute Emergency Department Experience Preferred.
Physical Demands
- Must possess good physical health.
- Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time.
- Lifting at least 20 pounds is required.
- Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
- Physical Effort required: Constant (67%-100%) - seeing Frequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearing Occasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), stooping, crouching
