RN Staff Nurse - Vascular Access

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care within an assigned department/unit and participates as a member of the health care team.
• Works cooperatively with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse.
• Affirms patient care standards for Legacy Health System, including patient assessment and transfer.
• Consults with providers and nurses regarding the most appropriate vascular access devices based on patient assessment and treatment plan.
• Placements and manages peripheral intravenous catheters (PIV), Peripheral Inserted Central Catheters (PICC), Midline catheters, and Intra-osseous catheters.
• Assesses and manages central venous access devices, including routine dressing changes, cap changes, and interventions to maintain patency.
• Serves as a resource for the health care team in intravenous access, placement, management, and patient/family education for care and maintenance.
• Works in both inpatient and outpatient service areas.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN or degree in progress preferred; BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.
• Experience: One-year registered nursing experience or completion of a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration.
• Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills; thorough knowledge of care and skill in placement of peripheral IV catheters; thorough knowledge of care of central IV access devices and PICC competency as determined by Nurse Manager or designee.

Pay

Pay Range: USD $54.37 - USD $81.21 /Hr.
