About Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center
Located in vibrant Northwest Portland, Legacy Good Samaritan is known for its cutting-edge care in specialties like cancer, neurology, kidney transplantation, and more. Our 23-bed adult emergency/urgent care department, with 45,000 patient visits annually, features a 4-bed urgent care area embedded within the ED for patients requiring immediate care. Our private rooms are equipped with up-to-date technology, and we provide specialized care pathways for diverse patient needs, including elders and behavioral health patients.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate patient care while adhering to Legacy Health’s high standards for patient assessment, care delivery, and transfer.
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, holistic care for every patient.
- Advocate for patients by offering education and emotional support, helping them navigate their health journeys.
- Leverage cutting-edge electronic health systems to accurately document patient information and provide seamless care.
Qualifications
Education
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program as required by licensure.
- BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) is strongly preferred. If you’re working towards your BSN, we encourage you to apply!
- For certain roles, a BSN is required. We also consider RNs without a BSN based on clinical experience and with approval from the Chief Nursing Officer.
Experience
- At least one year of nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program (or equivalent program).
- Additional clinical experience may be required, depending on the department.
Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association (AHA).
