RN Staff Nurse - East GI - Pre/PACU - East - Full-Time

Job Summary

A registered professional nurse employed by Erlanger Medical Center in the GI Endoscopy Center is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the Gastroenterology patient.

Education

• Required: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing

Experience

• Required: Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills
• Knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations
• Knowledge of current trends and new developments
• Knowledge of principles and practices of nursing applicable to areas requiring special education

Position Requirements

• Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee
• BLS certification completed prior to assignment and maintained
• ACLS certification completed prior to assignment and maintained
• The Nurse Licensure Compact does not alter Tennessee licensing; Tennessee residents must hold a single‑state Tennessee license.
• Non‑Tennessee residents must obtain Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state within three months of hire.

Department Position Summary

This employee must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in the GI Endoscopy Center. The individual must understand growth and development principles across the lifespan, assess patient data, interpret information to identify age‑specific requirements, and deliver care as outlined in the Endoscopy Center’s policies and procedures.

Schedule

Standard regular hours with ICU/critical care experience and call required.
