RN Staff - General Medicine
Scheduled Weekly Hours
- 36 hours per week
- Full-Time or PRN (as needed)
Summary of the Job
The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating clinical activities for the Medical/Surgical patient. This includes using the nursing process to organize, plan, implement, evaluate, and provide care based on the specific needs of the patient. Registered Nurses also supervise the activities of Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, and Certified Nursing Assistants.
Registered Nurses work within the framework of the State Nurse Practice Act and follow hospital policies and procedures. They support the goals and objectives of the department and the hospital.
Minimum Qualifications
- Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program
- Current LA RN licensure
- Current BLS certification through ILCOR-approved courses
- Basic EKG within 6 months of hire
- Excellent computer skills
- Able to work 12-hour shifts and meet holiday and weekend requirements
Physical Demands
- Must possess good physical health
- Standing, sitting, or walking for long periods of time
- Lifting at least 50 pounds required
- Moderate level of noise
