RN - Same Day Surgery

About the role

Mercy Hospital's Same Day Surgery Unit seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to patients post-surgery, ensuring their comfort and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' breathing, blood pressure, and pain levels.
• Ambulate patients to the bathroom and assist with other basic needs.
• Learn and perform pre-operative tasks to enhance nursing skills.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patients' conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
• Provide patient and family education.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• One year of current acute care RN experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN); Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross; One year of current acute care RN experience.
• Preferred qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Pay

Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60

Schedule

Varying days and hours from 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM, including rotating Saturdays.
