RN Resource Nurse - Medical Surgical Unit

About the Role

The Resource Nurse provides critical support across various acute care units, including Med/Surg, ICU, Emergency Department, and Long Term Care. They deliver individualized, efficient nursing care, demonstrating critical thinking and clinical judgment to respond to patient condition changes while ensuring effective communication and documentation.

The nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, participates in quality improvement, assists in staff education, and supports emergency preparedness.

Responsibilities

• Assist during shifts in areas of greatest need.
• Promote safe medication practices.
• Participate in trauma and emergency protocols.
• Support staff with clinical skills.
• Contribute to facility programs and quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as an IT resource for EHR systems.
• Engage in ongoing learning and professional development.

Requirements

• Licensed RN with 4-6 years of Med/Surg and/or ICU/Critical Care/ED experience.
• Preferred experience in emergency, critical care, or charge roles.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety standards.
