Purpose of Position: Delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Administers and monitors patient responses to all medications. Directs and guides patient care, teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing within the realm of Hospital Policy. Maintains and delivers the highest quality customer service standards. Description Properly utilizes the nursing process in caring for patients by maintaining relevant, accurate and current patient records as evidenced by Nursing PI activities. Provides documentation of assessment of the patient throughout the Hospital admission including physical, psychological, social dimensions and discharge plans. Summarizes assessment data and initiate plan of care with communication of pertinent data to allied patient care providers as evidenced by Nursing PI activities.Understands, assumes, and demonstrates proficiency in the role of charge nurse.Demonstrates proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems). Assumes role of resource person regarding patient care, orientation and teaching staff.Participates in at least four-unit staff meetings per year and attends mandatory educational programs.Participates in identification of the aspects of care for the patient, indicators used to monitor the quality and appropriateness of care, and the evaluation of that care. Adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures.Assesses personal learning development needs. Maintains documentation of current and ongoing professional development activities. Regularly up-dates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served. Shows a willingness to participate on Nursing Committees.Represents hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters and by presenting the hospital in a manner that will best market the services provided.Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested his/her immediate supervisor. Qualifications RN Residency & Transition, Birthing Center – Grade NS1, Job Code: 6008 Ability to read, write and communicate in EnglishGraduate of a School of Nursing(Preferred) – bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)(RN) - Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts(BLS) - Basic Life Support certificationCCHC Pharmacology Exam (pass prior to start date)(ACLS) – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (obtain within 6 months, offered within)(De-escalation) - Completion of an approved De-escalation Certification Course (obtain within 90 days, offered within)(PALS) – Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (obtain within 6 months, offered within)(FHM) - Fetal Monitor Course within 3 months of position and every 2 years in positionCopy of the highest-level clinical diploma/degree and/or transcript required for those employees performing moderate complexity testingCompletion of Baby-Friendly competencies within 1 year of positionCompletion of scrub training for cesarean sections within 1 year of position Schedule Details: 24 Hours Per Week, Rotating 7a-7:30p and 7p-7:30a Every Other Weekend and Rotating Holidays Organization : Cape Cod Hospital Primary Location : Massachusetts-Hyannis Department : CCH-Birthing Center Annual/Hourly: Hourly Hiring Pay Range: 38.36 - 81.23
