About the Role

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital's Spring 2027 RN Residency Program is a 12-month, comprehensive transition-to-practice program designed to facilitate your progress from student to professional nurse through education, mentorship, and peer support. The program prepares new graduate nurses by teaching the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary to continuously improve quality and safety at the point of care. It combines precepted orientation, led by dedicated preceptors, with blended learning experiences.

Opportunities are available in Medical/Surgical, Transplant, Cardiac Progressive Care, Critical Care, Emergency Department, Operating Room, Cardiovascular Operating Room, Women's Services, and more.

Responsibilities

The Staff RN provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. Responsibilities include:

  • Functioning within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrating professional growth and accountability.
  • Maintaining standards of practice and coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
  • Developing clinical judgment to rapidly recognize changes in patients' conditions and the urgency of clinical situations.
  • Cultivating excellent communication skills to engage with colleagues and support patients.
  • Participating in cohort experiences designed to promote peer and professional socialization and strengthen professional commitment to nursing.
  • Learning didactic content specifically tailored to new graduates from professional nursing organizations.

Requirements

  • Current license in the state of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC multistate Registered Nurse license.
  • BLS CPR certification (must upload BLS CPR card to your application).
